Martin’s Annual Memorial

memorial altar

Dear Friends of Martins:

We are so grateful to all of you our beloved family who have so faithfully helped us keep the flame of Martin’s alive during these uncertain and turbulent times. As we move further into Autumn, we also burrow deeper into ourselves and wonder how we can keep hope alive with all that we are facing. During these two years of COVID pandemic perhaps some of you have had to bury a loved one without having the opportunity to truly say goodbye to them and allow your grief to run its course. With that in mind we want to invite you to join us at Martin’s Annual Memorial to remember all our loved ones who have died. It may have been a short time or a long time since they have passed over, but we still miss them and we don’t know what to do with our grief. We may have buried their bodies, but the hungry ghost of their absence still haunts us. Our beloved Barbara began this memorial service over thirty years ago as a way of keeping the memory of our loved ones alive and allowing all of us as a community to heal from our grief and sorrow.

Please join us on Sunday, November 7th at 2pm for our Annual Memorial. Since Martin’s remains closed because of ongoing COVID restrictions, the memorial has been moved over to an online platform. Bob Thawley, a dear friend of our community has graciously offered us his Zoom room for the Memorial service. If you have pictures, poems or other memorabilia of your loved one that you would like to share at the memorial service please send them ahead of time to Bob who is our Zoom host. His e-mail is: Please put “Martin’s Memorial” in the Subject Line. If you are planning on attending we would appreciate it if you would let both Bob and myself know. That would be a tremendous help to us in planning the memorial. If you have any further questions feel free to contact me at  or (415)641-4369. We hope that we will see many of you on Sunday, November 7th at 2pm.

PLEASE DON’T FORGET TO SET YOUR CLOCKS BACK ONE HOUR! Below is the Zoom link to join us.
